Exclusive for students aged 7 to 16!

We have two competitions running, make sure your child enters the correct one. Our judges will announce two separate winners based on originality, structure, writing styles and technique. Ages and writing formats will be taken into consideration to ensure fairness. 

 

We give students a choice of handwriting (and then scanning) their final entries or they can use writing apps such as Google Docs or Microsoft Word to convert the document into a PDF format. If you need help with this or have any other questions, please feel free to use get in touch using the chatbox or by sending us an email and we will reply as soon as we can!

The competition is FREE TO ENTER and welcomes members and non-members of ED TREE in the UK.

1. CHOOSE YOUR AGE GROUP

Decide which topic you feel comfortable writing about based on your age group.

2. DOWNLOAD YOUR CHECKLIST

The checklists make it easier for you to include as many criteria as possible. Word counts are included for each age group.

3. CHECK OUT OUR RULES

Some of your questions may be answered within the rules. Carefully go through these before starting your story!

1.

Entries should be typed up (or scanned) and uploaded using the form above. Make sure your name is on the document so we can contact you!

3.

All work must be your own! Entries that have been copied from the internet or other sources will be disqualified.

5.

You can submit only one piece of writing per competition! This is to ensure fairness and gives everyone a fair chance of winning.

You must carefully use the topics provided for the correct age group you are in. You have until 6 pm on the 18th of January 2021.

Download the checklist to help see what the judges look out for! Feel free to print it to tick off as you go along.

Stick to the word limit set for each age group and double-check your work before sending.

4. SUBMIT YOUR MASTERPIECE

Well done for completing your story! Follow these steps to officially enter.

Make sure your child is happy with their final piece by going through the correct checklist!

We encourage entries to be submitted as a pdf. If this isn't possible, that is no problem!
